Health Information Technicians (HITs)

To overcome shortage of human resource with proper skill for Health Management Information System, TU-CGHE provided technical assistance to the  Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Regional Health Bureaus (RHBs) in order to develop a pioneering and competency-based curriculum and has supported the training program for Health Information Technicians (HITs) which is being provided in 22 Health Science Colleges.

Tulane’s support include establishment of computer labs, donation of reference books, development and provision learning modules, and familiarization training for instructors. Through this support, so far more than 3,000 Health Information Technicians are produced and entered into the workforce in Ethiopia.
