The Center for Global Health Equity (CGHE) is a multi-disciplinary center located within the Department of Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, LA, USA. The center was created to address global health disparities through building human capacity and technical infrastructure. CGHE has been particularly successful building undergraduate and graduate programs in health monitoring and evaluation and in Biostatistics and Health Informatics, and in developing innovative applications of information technology (e- and m-Health) for global application.
The Center has affiliations with many international institutes and experts, offering TA and short courses in surveillance, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and ICT for Health.
While HIV/AIDS is a particular focus of the Center, staff and affiliates work in health areas such as maternal and child health, Zika, Dengue, Leprosy, TB, One-Health and e and m health. Today, the Center has programs in low and middle income countries including fragile states worldwide working on:
• Monitoring and Evaluation
• Global Health Security
• e and m health
• Health Management Information Systems, including EMR
• Designing undergraduate and graduate public health training program with partner universities
